Job Description

We are a general dentist office looking for maternity leave coverage for our Dental Assistant from mid-February through end of May. The position is typically 4 days/wk on an alternating schedule of Monday-Thursday then Tuesday- Friday, which gives us the benefit of 4-day weekends every other week!
We are looking for someone who is friendly, kind and compassionate with great customer service skills. Must have a positive attitude, be a team player, multi-task efficiently, have a strong work ethic and be a quick learner. Dentrix experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities include:

Prepare patients for treatment or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
Sterilize instruments and treatment area
Assist the dentist through procedures
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post operative instructions
Keep operatories clean and well-stocked
Maintain accurate patient records
Walk out patient to front office and hand off for next appointment

Skills Needed:

Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Team work
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Good Computer skills (Dentrix experience is a +)
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
