Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to examine, diagnose, and treat dental patients. When necessary, oversee rotating student doctors to assure clinical quality.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Eligible to receive Missouri and Illinois Medicaid vendor status.
Preference given to experience in an urban community health setting.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of dentistry.
Experience: One (1) year experience preferred.

Residency and Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
License(s)/Certification(s) required: Must possess a current, valid and unrestricted dental license in good standing as a dentist in the state of Missouri; federal and state drug license eligible. BLS certified.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
1. Provides dental patient care and conduct dental clinic sessions.
2. Performs general dental treatment, including minor dental surgery.
3. Renders care consistent with principle of practice and in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
4. Participates in record audit, quality assurance record reviews, and staff meetings.
5. Maintains productivity and quality standards.
6. Participates in developing / updating of dental protocols.
7. Attends continuing education programs to maintain licensure.
8. Participates in in-service education programs.
9. Refers to and consults with other providers of primary care staff team.
10. Promotes preventive oral hygiene care within the community.
11. Supervises dental assistants, dental hygiene students, dental hygienists and dental students.
12. Oversees and coordinates with MOSDOH for student experiences.
13. Knowledge of the EDR/EMR including appropriate and timely documentation.
14. Write prescriptions for antibiotics and other necessary medications.
15. Maintains OSHA and universal precautions standards.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
