Hampton Dental Center is a small business in Hampton, VA 23666. We are creative and professional.Our work environment includes: Lively atmosphere Company perks The dental assistant will assist our dentist with restorative procedures, work directly with the Dental Office Manager on program goals and objectives. The dental assistants will work together to train volunteers in best practices related to x-rays, infection control, instrument storage, and patient communication. A full-time registration and scheduling specialist in dental handles all patient registration and scheduling matters. Our staff dentist is a great teacher, is hands-on with patients, and wants to work with everyone to create the best working and patient care environment possible. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in the following areas: Ability to provide high-quality dental assistant services; Knowledge of and ability to provide education about oral hygiene and dental health; Ability both to work collaboratively as part of a team and to practice under supervision; Commitment to caring for underserved populations; Competence with basic dental software; Experience working in a dental office on administrative tasks; and Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS Certified Dental Assistant Certification preferred.REQUIRED SKILLS Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, equipment and clerical techniques in a clinical setting; knowledge of dental equipment and care, medical terminology and telephone triage; Good time management skills and an ability to create/stay on schedule; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Patience, understanding, and compassion in direct interactions with patients. Eaglesoft knowledge a plus.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS May require long periods of sitting or standing; appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn while administering dental treatments.DESIRED QUALITIES Ability to coordinate patient care with other staff members and make decisions that are in the best interest of patients and the clinic; Ability to use basic Windows-based computer applications and database systems; and Highly organized and attention to details concerning patient care.Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
