Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part Time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical records management, and infection control practices. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist and other team members to support various dental procedures and enhance the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
Manage patient records, including medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive dental practices.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support pediatric dentistry needs by creating a welcoming atmosphere for younger patients.
Assist in endodontic procedures as required, demonstrating knowledge of relevant techniques.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, medical imaging, and systems related to dental care.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
Strong understanding of infection control standards and medical documentation processes.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
