Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our dental team. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control practices, and the ability to assist in various dental specialties, including endodontics and pediatrics.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring patient safety.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and organized.
Schedule appointments and handle patient inquiries with professionalism.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including filing and maintaining patient records.
Requirements
Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is essential.
Experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting techniques is a plus.
Ability to take vital signs and assist with patient assessments.
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills in various areas of dentistry, including endodontics and pediatrics.
Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
