Posting Summary



Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dental Assistant III within the Endodontics Department at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).


The Dental Assistant III provides clinical support to residents and faculty during examination and treatment in the patient care clinic. Among the key duties of this position are the following:


Assists residents in the delivery of quality oral health care.
Exposes and scans digital radiographs using digital sensor or phosphor plates.
Prepares instruments trays with appropriate devices for treatment.
Issues equipment, instruments and supplies to residents and or faculty.
Checks returned instruments and prepare them for sterilization. Deliver, inspect, and retrieve instruments from the central sterilization unit.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Ability to read, speak, understand and/or communicate sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.




Preferred Qualifications


Two (2) years of experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
Knowledge of dental terminology, decontamination, assembly, packing and monitoring of instrumentation preferred.
Valid Radiologic Technology license issued by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, preferred.
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
