Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring that patients are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
Manage and maintain infection control.
Maintain accurate medical records and patient information, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Take and integrate dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, billing, and insurance verification as needed.
Execute Schedule of Equipment Maintenance
Support specialized procedures such as prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry when required.
Utilize advanced technology including 3D scanners for imaging and impressions.
Requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record management is essential.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding is advantageous.
Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and calmly with patients and team members.
Proficient in using technology.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
