Job Description
JOB CATEGORY: DENTAL CARE / HYGIENE / HEALTH CARE
POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision of a qualified Dentist, assesses patient needs, and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. Utilizes established dental hygiene protocol and procedures. Performs some clerical duties related to the dental program.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Certificate or Diploma representing the successful completion of an Associates or Bachelorââ¬â¢s degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must obtain by date of hire and maintain current throughout employment:
Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of New Mexico.
BLS/CPR certification. Certification must meet the requirements listed in the document ââ¬ÅBLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resourcesââ¬Â posted on Staurolite.
Must obtain within six months of hire and maintain current throughout employment:
New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienist.

According to PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, ââ¬ÅHealthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements,ââ¬Â this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employeeââ¬â¢s PMS health center. Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
