Responsibilities:- Perform dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed- Assist the dentist during procedures- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
Qualifications:- Valid Dental Hygiene license in the state of [Location]- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and oral health conditions- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or similar- Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing procedures- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records- Knowledge of infection control protocols and adherence to safety guidelines
Skills:- Proficient in using dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or similar- Strong knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems- Expertise in infection control practices to maintain a safe environment- Ability to accurately record and maintain patient medical records- Knowledge of anatomy to assist with treatment planning and understanding patient needs- Proficient in taking vital signs during patient assessments
