Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures, including pediatric dentistry.
Responsibilities- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.- Perform infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sterile environment.- Take and record vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.- Manage patient records and assist with medical documentation using electronic health record systems such as Open Dental
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming environment and addressing their specific needs during visits.- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.- Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques and infection control practices.- Familiarity with taking vital signs and understanding basic medical documentation.- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems; experience with Open Dental is a plus.- Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.- Certification in dental assisting and X-ray is mandatory.
