Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our small privately owned single Dr practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the dentist and other team members in various procedures to ensure the smooth operation of our dental office.
Duties:- Prepare treatment rooms ensuring cleanliness and organization- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, using 4-handed dentistry- Take digital x rays and intro-oral pictures- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Perform basic laboratory duties such as taking impressions, pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories as necessary- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed, including answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries
-Assist with hygiene procedures such as polishing and flossing
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and systems (e.g., Dentrix, Dexis)- Familiarity with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
