Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and the ability to assist the dentist effectively during procedures.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
Utilize a 3D scanner for capturing accurate impressions of patients' teeth.
Document patient medical histories and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with practice policies.
Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and coordinating with the dental receptionist as necessary.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
ExperienceCandidates should possess:
Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Familiarity with Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental practices is essential.
Previous experience in assisting within a dental setting is highly desirable, along with skills in medical documentation.
A strong understanding of dental terminology to facilitate effective communication within the practice.
