Responsibilities
1. Clinical Duties:
- Assisting with Procedures: Help during dental procedures by passing instruments, preparing materials, and keeping the patient comfortable. They may assist with fillings, extractions, cleanings, and other treatments.
- Taking X-rays: Taking diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) of a patient's teeth and jaws, under the direction of the dentist.
- Sterilizing Instruments: Cleaning and sterilizing dental tools and instruments, following strict infection control guidelines.
- Preparing Treatment Rooms: Setting up dental treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and equipment before patient visits.
- Preparing Patients: Assisting patients in getting into the dental chair, preparing them for procedures, and explaining the process to help them feel comfortable.
- Infection Control: Ensuring that all clinical areas are clean and hygienic, following proper sterilization protocols, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
- Taking Impressions: Take impressions of a patient's teeth for molds used in crowns, bridges, dentures, or other restorations.
- Laboratory Work: Help with basic lab tasks, like making temporary crowns, cleaning dentures, or preparing dental materials.
- Performing Certain Dental Procedures: Additional tasks such as placing and removing rubber dams, polishing teeth, or applying fluoride treatments.
