Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, assisting the dentist during procedures, and delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up materials for dental procedures.
Assist the dentist during procedures, including fillings, crown and bridge preparations, extractions, and other treatments.
Pack retraction cord for crown and bridge procedures.
Fabricate temporary crowns and bridges, ensuring proper fit and comfort for patients.
Take and develop dental X-rays and intraoral images.
Take impressions and pour models as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist in documenting procedures and treatment plans.
Provide patients with pre- and post-operative care instructions.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Maintain inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
Schedule patient appointments and manage administrative tasks when required.
Ensure patients feel comfortable and supported during their visits.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
Radiology certification (required in many states).
Experience in fabricating temporary crowns and packing retraction cord is highly preferred.
Proficient in taking impressions and handling dental materials.
Current Cray certification.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using dental software (experience with open dental is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing quality patient care.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
