Job Description
## Overview
We are an orthodontic practice seeking a dental assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the team around the office.
## Duties
- Clock in on time in the morning and clock out when all clinical and admin responsibilities for the day have been completed.
- Introduce yourself and escort patients to the clinic from the reception area for their appointment.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following established protocols.
- Monitor and document sterilization logs to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Clean, disinfect, break down and prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures.
- Clean, disinfect patient rinsing sinks, laboratory, front desk, conference room, staff room surfaces to maintain a clean office.
- Keep all sterilization and lab areas organized at all times.
- Maintain inventory of supplies, distribute inventory and log necessary inventory.
- During non-patient hours assist with front desk responsibilities including checking the mail, answering phone calls, checking voice mail, returning calls, making appointments and doing any insurance or patient documentation preparation as requested by admin manager or the doctor.
## Qualifications
- Dental assisting experience and knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control procedures are preferred but not required, we are willing to train you
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures preferred
- Excellent at following directions and working as a team player
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with interest to be busy working with excellent positive attitude
- EFDA or Orthodontic Assisting experience willing to be certified, ideal.
- Certificates in dental assistance, infection control and an X-ray license, a plus
- Knowledge of Ortho Edge is a plus
- Living in proximity to the office under 40 minutes is preferred
- Monday to Friday (some weekends during marketing events, 2-3 max per year)

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
