We are currently seeking a Certified Dental Assistant with Radiology Certification to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Certified Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing top-notch dental care and support to our patients and dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care. A radiology certification is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including but not limited to examinations, fillings, crowns, and extractions.
Perform radiographic imaging and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and materials.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory areas according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and charts.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatments.
Ensure patient comfort and manage patient anxiety during procedures.
Schedule patient appointments and manage dental office administration tasks as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive dental care.
Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies.
Adhere to all infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) from an accredited program, EFDA preferred.
Radiology Certification is required.
Current CPR certification is preferred.
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice is highly desirable.
Excellent knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and the ability to follow them at all times.
Excellent computer skills and familiarity with dental office management software (e.g. Eaglesoft) is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
Working Conditions:
The position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
The role involves exposure to dental instruments and materials, including potential allergens.
The Certified Dental Assistant will need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
