We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team.
Job Description: As a Dental Assistant in our periodontist office, you will work closely with the periodontist and hygienists to provide quality care and support during periodontal procedures. You will assist in a range of tasks, including preparing patients for treatments, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a passion for patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the periodontist during periodontal procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Take and develop dental X-rays.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA standards.
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories.
Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Manage patient flow and assist with appointment scheduling.
Ensure all instruments and materials are prepared for each procedure.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
Virginia Radiation Certification (Required).
Certification as a Dental Assistant (Preferred).
CPR certification (Required).
Previous experience in a dental office or as a dental assistant, preferably in a periodontist setting (Preferred).
Proficient in dental terminology and office procedures.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with patients of all ages.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
