Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental clinic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will work closely with dentists to deliver comprehensive dental services while ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients.
Duties
Perform thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting oral examinations.
Administer preventive dental care, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of maintaining good dental health.
Assist in the management of medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to assist the dentist during procedures effectively.
Document treatment plans and progress notes in Dentrix or other dental software systems.
Stay updated on medical terminology and coding relevant to dental practices.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Experience in a dental clinic setting preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of infection control procedures.
Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental management software is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and rapport building.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
