Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
Must be friendly, tech savy and plus if bilingual.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Monitor and record vital signs as required during patient visits.
Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with industry standards.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary, contributing to advanced treatment planning.
Support pediatric patients with special attention to their comfort and understanding of procedures.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within general dentistry.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to dental practices.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control procedures is essential.
Proficiency in using dental systems, particularly Dentrix software, is preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism with patients.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality patient care.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including children.
