About us
We are a family-owned dental office in Highland Park, NJ seeking a part time dental hygienist. Our office is welcoming and warm as we offer our patients the highest standards of care. The position we seek to fill is part time, 1 to 2 days per week, but we are flexible.
We are closed on weekends, Wednesdays, and evenings. To prepare for the day, we would need the candidate to be at the office by 6:45 AM.
Patients are seen from 7 AM to 5 PM on M-Th (with an hour for lunch), and 7 AM to 1 PM on Fridays. Since this position is part-time, the days that the hygienist would work can be flexible.
Each patient visit is an hour, and the hygienist has access to 2 operatories.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain all licensure: RDH, CPR, OSHA (CPR and OSHA provided by the office)
-Set up and maintain organization of hygiene operatories
-Sterilize and sharpen hygiene instruments
-Introduce and escort patients to and from hygiene visit with appropriate paperwork
-Review all patient charts prior to treatment, ensure proper radiographs/visit is taking place
-Write charts for hygiene patients
-Acquisition of radiographs and pertinent imaging
-Dental prophies, debridement, SRP, polishing, fluoride varnish, Arestin, sealants, probing, SDF, oral hygiene instructions.
-Prepare and provide “hygiene bags” for patients
-Assist the dentist in detection of caries, pathology, perio disease, orthodontic, and other findings
-Monitor and treat patients undergoing nitrous treatment
Requirements:
-Willingness to learn new things
-Familiarity with digital patient management software such as Dentrix and Dexis
-Help others, be a team-player
- License as a dental hygienist
-Ability to be at work on-time
