Job SummaryEverglow Family Dentistry is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, focusing on preventive oral health and education. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care in a friendly and professional environment.
DUTIES

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate recommendations for treatment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Conduct documentation reviews to ensure accurate patient records are maintained.
Assist in infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
Utilize knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding for effective communication within the office.
Ensure a comfortable experience for all patients, including young patients and their guardians or elderly patients

SKILLS

Strong understanding of infection control protocols and procedures.
Proficient knowledge of human anatomy related to dental health.
Experience with documentation review processes to maintain accurate patient information.
Familiarity with medical coding practices relevant to dental procedures.
Background in dental assisting is advantageous for supporting clinical operations.
Proficient in both dental and medical terminology to facilitate clear communication within the healthcare team.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school/GED required
Valid California Registered Dental Hygienist License required
Valid BLS certification from approved American Health Association provider required upon hire
One-year dental hygienist experience in a dental office required
Valid certification to administer local anesthesia is strongly preferred

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent communication skills
Knowledgeable about and experience with performing a full range of established dental hygienist protocols/procedures
Knowledgeable about and experience with dental practices and procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs/weight
Ability to stand for long periods of time
