Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team part-time. We are a three-doctor practice specializing in Periodontics practicing in Santa Rosa, CA. We place an emphasis on comfort and high-quality care with sensitivity to language and office culture. We schedule hygiene at an hour per patient (1 hour per SCRP quad) and have a dedicated team to help you book your own patients according to your recall recommendations. We are looking for someone who is passionate about oral health and saving teeth.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, multi-task oriented, a team player and well organized. We want someone who is motivated and wants to work in a relationship-based practice.
Duties include Preventive Care, OHI, Periodontal Therapy, Patient Education, digital x-rays, intra-oral pictures.
Responsibilities:

Identify gingivitis, caries, periodontitis, and watch for potential oral cancers
Oral hygiene instruction including tell-show-do on mostly adults and few children
Help with sterilization although we have a dedicated sterilization team to help you turn the room in-between each patient and with specific training in OSHA/Infection control and COVID protocols.
Update Health History
Take any needed digital X-rays, vertical BWX’s/PAXs.
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for periodontal disease
Maintain documentation for each patient
Monitor hygiene supplies

Skills:

Experience in dental hygiene is a MUST. Being that you are applying to a periodontal office all our patients are either Scaling & Root Planing or Supportive Perio Treatment with the exception of occasional prophy’s (mostly co-workers).
Laser certified a plus.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, etc).
Experience in sterilization, instrument sharpening and maintenance.
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Diploma in Dental Hygiene with a current license to practice.
