Job Description
Merrimack Valley Dental is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional oral care to our valued patients. Responsibilities:
Perform initial patient screenings, including medical history review, oral cancer screenings, and dental charting
Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planning, and polishing to remove plaque, stains, and tartar
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing, flossing techniques, and nutrition counseling
Assess and document patients' oral health conditions, noting any abnormalities or potential issues for further evaluation by the dentist
Take dental x-rays as needed
Provide post-operative instructions and follow-up care to ensure optimal patient recovery and oral health maintenance
Maintain strict infection control protocols and adhere to all safety regulations
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a seamless patient experience and deliver exceptional customer service
Qualifications:
Valid dental hygiene license in MA
Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution
Proficient in using dental software and digital radiography systems. Eaglesoft & Dexis experience is a plus!
Excellent knowledge of oral health and hygiene practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages
Detail-oriented and ability to maintain accurate patient records
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
