Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric dentistry and a strong understanding of dental terminology. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Manage patient records, including updating medical history and documenting treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Monitor vital signs and assist with patient comfort during procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental operatory, including sterilization of instruments.
Schedule appointments and manage the front desk as required.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting practices.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is beneficial.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
Spanish Speaking Preferred
