Job Description

OverviewWe are a new practice seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. We will start with one day a week but we hope to add more days as the practice grows.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care and ensuring patient comfort. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and oral examinations.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures using appropriate techniques.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments to patients' teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate medical records and document patient treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
Assist the dentist during procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support.
Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Stay updated on dental terminology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques relevant to the practice.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and improve office efficiency.

Requirements

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in medical terminology and dental terminology.
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Strong skills in patient assessment and infection control practices.
Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively while assisting the dentist.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and proper handling of medical records.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
A compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on comfort and satisfaction.
