About us
Kiel and New Holstein Family dental a fun family oriented dental practice that is a great place to work!
We are looking for an outgoing Dental Hygienist to help treat patients, promote good oral health practices and become a part of our work family. This position is Mondays and Tuesdays from 7:30 to 5:30, Wednesdays 12:20-7:30, Thursdays from 7:30-4:30, with the occasional Friday if you would like. We are flexible with our hours and can offer full or part time hours.
Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, prophylaxis, periodontal therapies and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll work together with our dentists to help determine the best treatment plans for our patient's teeth and gingival health. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and is CPR certified.
Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible during their appointment
Sterilize dental instruments properly and disinfect your operatory as required by OSHA
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history and medical history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care
Give post operative instructions to patients after treatment
Take X-rays
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various oral health conditions
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies

Skills

Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice
CPR certified
Valid anesthesia license a plus
