Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team at Northwest Dental!
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. You will work closely with the dentist to perform various dental procedures and educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
Duties:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct thorough oral exams and screenings for signs of oral diseases
- Take dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes
Qualifications:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Proficient in medical coding and knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral healthcare practices
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Ability to take accurate vital signs and interpret medical imaging results
