Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Take dental x-rays to assess the condition of teeth and bone structure.
Assess patients' oral health by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect teeth from decay.
Utilize Dentrix dental software system for patient records management.
Implement strict sterilization and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist the dentist during procedures as needed, including working with pediatric patients.
Record patient findings, maintain accurate progress notes of patient care and treatment plans.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
Experience
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques is essential.
Experience using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
A valid dental hygienist license is required along with any necessary certifications related to patient care.
