Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental team. MUST have current radiology license and a minimum of 5 years experience with direct patient contact. The ideal candidate will support our dental professionals in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the office. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and the ability to assist in various dental procedures across general dentistry. This position offers a 3-4 day work week with approximately 25-30 hours per week. Patient hours are Monday & Tuesday 8a-5p, every other Wednesday 9a-2p and Thursdays 9a-6p. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize Open Dental software for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and charting processes.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
Support patients by creating a comfortable environment during their visits.
Skills
Strong understanding of dental terminology relevant to general dentistry.
Knowledge of medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Experience assisting in various dental procedures.
