Job Description
Responsibilities:- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records- Assist the dentist during procedures as required
Skills:- Proficient in medical documentation and maintaining accurate records- Knowledge of dental office procedures and protocols- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control measures- Ability to work with patients of all ages, including pediatrics- Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health practices- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry- Ability to take vital signs and monitor patient comfort during procedures
