Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth
- Conduct oral health assessments and screenings
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment plans
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications:
- Valid Dental Hygiene license in [state]
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Experience working as a Dental Hygienist preferred but not required
- Proficient in performing pediatric dental cleanings
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and medical terminology
- Understanding of medical coding and documentation requirements
- Ability to perform patient assessments and very detailed in note-taking
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
