Job Description

Responsibilities:- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique- Utilize dental software systems (such as Dentrix or Epic) to input and access patient information
Requirements:- Valid dental hygiene license in [state]- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program- Proficient knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions- Experience with dental assisting and knowledge of dental procedures- Familiarity with medical coding for insurance billing purposes- Ability to operate dental equipment and utilize CAD systems for treatment planning- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring during dental procedures
