Job Description

Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, assisting the dentist and supporting the overall operations of the dental office.
Duties:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist- Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring models and trimming temporary crowns- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar using Dentrix software- Greet patients, answer phone calls, and handle administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred- Valid certification or license as a Dental Assistant in [STATE]- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments- Proficiency in Dentrix software or similar dental practice management software- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent patient care- Ability to maintain strict infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills for managing patient records and documentation
