About us:
Health Partners is a non- profit Dental and Primary Care Office with multiple locations including Waldorf, Nanjemoy, and Lexington Park, MD. We are currently searching for a dedicated dental assistant to assist with a wide range of procedures. The ideal candidate for this position is flexible and eager to grow with our office and is willing to work in all three offices as needed.
Must be caring and compassionate, and able to ensure excellent customer service by assisting with administrative and clinical dental tasks. Dental assistants should be organized and able to follow instructions and respect office regulations.
Proven experience as a dental assistant is required, experience working with all ages is preferred. Must be knowledgeable of dental instruments and sterilization methods. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required. APPLICANTS MUST BE X-RAY CERTIFIED.
Duties:- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures- Perform dental x-rays, charting and perio-charting- Sterilize instruments and disinfect equipment- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following dental treatment- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including medical coding anddocumentation- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history- Assist with dental lab work, including CAD/CAM technology- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience- Current certification in dental radiography- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic)- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required
