Job Description
We are a single doctor, locally owned practice in Springboro, OH looking for a fun and team focused person to join us. We utilize Dexis, Dentrix, Carivu, Itero, iCat, Diagodent, and intraoral photography. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Davisson Dental is a family focused office offering care to patients from birth to the elderly. We believe the patient is the most important part of our team and our goals align with giving them the best treatment and experience possible.
This is a part-time or full-time position. Days and hours are flexible to work for you.
Tuesday coverage prefers general supervision, but not required.
Typically, you will have a single column of patients (unless you prefer accelerated hygiene) and two operatories to work out of. Both hygiene rooms have their own cavitron. There is a full team (EFDA, Sterile Tech, Front Desk) that are excited and willing to help you get acclimated with the office so your day can be as smooth as possible.
Pay scale dependent on experience and certifications (i.e., local anesthesia, general supervision, nitrous oxide training, assisted vs non-assisted schedule, etc)
We are willing to cover a reasonable amount of CE to maintain licensure and reimburse you each renewal cycle for your license renewal fee.
Transparency: Our current dental hygienist is transitioning to full-time subbing the week of November 18th. She has been an employee with us for the last 8 years and we support her on her new venture of self employment. This position is available for immediate occupancy. While we are searching for the right candidate I will be maintaining the current hygiene schedule so that there isn't a backlog of patients waiting for you once you join. We are all willing to step up to help you feel a part of the team and transition you into a patient, work-life balance focused career.
We can adjust lengths of patient visits dependent on their individual needs but a typical summary for "straight-forward" visits are:
- A prophy with no exam is typically around 40 minutes,
- A prophy with exam is 50-60 minutes,
- An adult new patients are typically 90 minute,
- Child prophys with x-rays typically 40 minutes.
- SRP is more based on severity- 2 quads of 4+ teeth gets more time than 1 quad of 1-3 teeth (say 90 minutes vs 50 minutes).
- We adjust based on a patient's need (talks a lot, builds up easier, mobility challenged).
- Typically, aged 30 and above see me for a new patient evaluation and diagnosis then we schedule their prophy for another day unless you have an opening same day,
- All new patients under 18 go to hygiene,
- Between ages 18-29 depends on need (wants a prophy- goes to hygiene for NPX, has a toothache- goes on DR schedule).
Something I (Dr. Davisson) like to do is make rounds periodically each hour and do hygiene checks (say after I numb, before I start a procedure) so I come in 80% of the time before you finish your cleaning. Unless I'm in a very tricky situation, if there is a wait for a check it's about 5 minutes. I like to run on time. Hygiene hardly ever runs behind- it wouldn't be like you'd be alone. If things are tight and you are stressed we typically have someone that can flip a room while you move on to the next patient.
