Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our practice. Candidates must have at least two years of dental assisting experience, preferred. You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and help the dentist during patient examinations and other dental procedures. Between patients, you will clean exam rooms and replenish supplies.
We are looking for someone to ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentistââ¬â¢s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. We want someone who will be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We need an assistant who will be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and adapt in making office procedures run as smoothly as possible.
Responsibilities
Prepare patients for treatments and ensuring their comfort
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Prepare the work area for procedures
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Maintain accurate patient records and assist in patient charting & notes
Gather patient information and health background
Take x-rays of patientsââ¬â¢ teeth when necessary and display results for the dentist
Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures
Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions
Restock treatment areas and monitor inventory
Schedule appointments
Requirements and Qualifications
Dental assistant certificate from an accredited vocational school (preferred)
Washington state Dental Assistant certification
2+ years of dental assisting experience (preferred but not required)
X-ray certification is a plus (not a must)
Current BLS and CPR certification
Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures
Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Reliable, dependable and consistent
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical/surgical tasks
Office hours:
7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Monday- Thursday
No weekends
Salary: DOE
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.28 per hour
Expected hours: 30 ââ¬â 40 per week
