Job Description

Chief Purpose of the Position
​The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by: preparing the treatment rooms, patient, instruments and materials. Passing instruments and materials. Performing procedures in complaince with the dental clinic and/or tasked delegated by the treating dentist, attending faculty dentist, dental resident or student. Performing standard infection control procedures; taking necessary X-Rays as delegated.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required

​Knowledge of dental procedures, dental self care, utilization of materials, instruments and equipment
Knowledge of standard infection control protocols
Knowledge of daily preventive maintenance of dental instruments, equipment and accessories
Knowledge of techniques used in dental radiography in compliance with federal and state regulations
Knowledge of dental office administrative procedures and principles of dental office record keeping
Able to navigate using a computer
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Proven ability to deliver high level of customer service

Education level and experience required:

Dental Assisting experience, 2 years minimum preferred
CDA certification preferred
CPR Certification preferred
X-Ray Certification required
​High School diploma or equivalent required

Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience
