Job Description
Salary Range: $21 to $25 per hour
Summary: Responsible for efficiently scheduling doctor and/or hygiene office appointments.
Essential Tasks include the following but are not limited to:
Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments for routine office visits, consultations, treatments, and post-ops using practice management software following the Scheduling Policy of the practice.
Enter necessary changes on computer to update information prior to printing daily schedules.
Review schedule throughout the day and the next two weeks, to ensure each provider is strategically scheduled to goal and fill openings as they arise. Rearrange the schedule as needed.
Coordinate and follow-up on patient referrals and transfers to and from other practices.
Coordinate pre-medication and prescription(s) as directed by the doctor.
Confirm doctor and hygiene appointments following the Confirmation Policy of the practice.
Contact late patients following the Late Patient Policy of the practice.
Contact patients that missed their appointment following the Missed Appointment Policy of the practice.
Reactivate patients who donââ¬â¢t reschedule or miss their appointment following the Reactivation Policy of the practice.
Inform team of changes in patient status, and update information in appropriate chart.
Non-Essential Tasks include the following but are not limited to:
Assist with Receptionist responsibilities as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related dental experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and internet software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
