Job Description
Position Overview
A successful Dentist must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others while acting as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the best quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families.
The Dentist is responsible for providing quality care to patients, informing, and educating them regarding their oral health, discussing treatment options and making treatment plan for the patient, performing dental procedures and helping patient achieve good oral health.
Essential Functions, Duties, Responsibilities
Reviewing patientââ¬â¢s health history and updating it.
Evaluate x-rays and oral health of patient and diagnose dental conditions.
Document diagnosis and any existing conditions in patient record.
Inform patient of their current oral health and educate them.
Discuss alternative treatment options that are available and make a treatment plan.
Explain risks and benefits of both having treatment and not having treatment done.
Answer patientââ¬â¢s questions and concerns.
Get patients informed consent and perform dental treatment.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Give oral hygiene instructions and post op instructions.
Prescribe any medicines if necessary.
Refer patient to other providers if needed.
Document all treatment notes on time.
Fill in and sign any lab slips.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Strict adherence to all OSHA regulations.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Essential, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education -
DDS or DMD degree from accredited Dental school.
Current CA dental license.
DEA license.
CPR certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
Computer literacy to use clinical software and Microsoft windows.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care.
Excellent communication skills for enhanced patient experience.
Ability to work with team to help provide care to patients.
Knowledgeable regarding infection control procedures and policies
Knowledgeable about universal precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment.
