Job Description
We are looking for a Dental Assistant who is passionate about patient care, professional and will make the dentistââ¬â¢s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. Youââ¬â¢ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentistââ¬â¢s shoulders. Dental assistants should be reliable, well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions, motivated team player and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. The right person will be someone who loves a balanced lifestyle, work hard and play hard.
Our working days are Tuesdays to Saturdays minimum of 32 hours a week. Bonus and benefits depending on dedication and hard work.
Responsibilities
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments and maintain the operatory according to regulations
Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedure
Taking dental radiographs (x-rays), intra and extra oral photos
Perform weekly sterilization maintenance and water testing
Asking the patient's medical history, if premedication has been taken prior to procedure and any changes to double check
Presenting patients with treatment plan and making sure they read, understand and sign the consent form prior to treatment
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments when needed
Maintain accurate patient records and treatments
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Infection control Certificate and X-ray license
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
