Manage dental hygienists, associate dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans
Instruct patients on the use of recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as dentures and retainers and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene
Seek consultation with dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, or periodontists when appropriate
Recommend and perform preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated
Assess the patientsââ¬â¢ overall dental health and look for presence of dental diseases, by thoroughly examining the patientsââ¬â¢ teeth using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments
Issue referrals for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate
Implement and coordinate preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated
Conduct work that is compliant with office policies and procedures; safety, OSHA, and MSDS guidelines; and infection and infectious diseases control standards
Examine the patientsââ¬â¢ teeth thoroughly using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments to spot signs of dental diseases and determine the overall state of dental health
Identify oral diseases and provide appropriate treatment for common dental problems including cleanings, restoration, root canals, and surgical extractions
Qualifications:
Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Dentistry
Two years of dentistry experience in clinical or private practice is required
A Bachelorââ¬â¢s degree and DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an ADA accredited dental school are required
Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI
Computer proficiency is desired
Completion of AEGD/GPR or a minimum of 1-2 years of General Dentistry experience, preferred
Experience with restorative, crown & bridge work, and simple extractions, highly preferred
North Carolina Dental License, REQUIRED
2+ years in clinical or private practice dentistry experience is required
Strong bedside manner and great communication skills are necessary
Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
Additional certifications required: CPR, BLS, and NPI
Relevant knowledge of dental standards and guidelines, public health standards, and dental medicine trends and advances is an asset
