Job Description

We are a family-owned general dentistry practice seeking a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist. The applicant must be dependable, flexible, and a team player.
Starting compensation is $50 per hour and negotiable based on experience. We are located in the Kahala Office Center diagonal from Longs Drugs/CVS in Kahala Mall. Free employee parking is available.
Responsibilities

Greet patients, introduce yourself, and escort them to the hygiene room
Communicate changes to patients’ dental insurance to the office manager
Review medical and health history
Conduct oral cancer screenings
Take digital x-rays
Remove calculus and plaque
Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries or periodontitis, and handoff areas of concern the the dentist
Recommend periodontal treatment if necessary.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene care (e.g., demonstrate effective brushing and flossing techniques, and discuss nutrition)
Thorough dental charting
Write a referral slip for patients who need to see a specialist
Clean and sanitize room
Sterilize dental instruments

Skills

Proven experience as Registered Dental Hygienist
Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g. HIPAA)
Excellent communication skills
Patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Valid RDH license to practice

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
