Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive high-quality care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for treatment, and maintaining a clean and organized treatment room.- Operate dental equipment, such as 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other technology used in the clinic.- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper medical coding for billing purposes.- Provide exceptional patient care, including answering questions and addressing concerns in a friendly and professional manner.- Support the front desk with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.- Maintain a high level of proficiency in four-handed dentistry, ensuring efficient and safe treatment.- Develop a strong understanding of dental anatomy and be able to explain procedures to patients.- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, including assisting with procedures and maintaining a clean and organized treatment room.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assisting certificate or degree preferred.- Experience in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting is highly valued.- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental anatomy is essential.- Ability to operate dental equipment and technology, including 3D scanners and X-ray machines.- Proficiency in medical coding and billing procedures.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Familiarity with systems and software used in the dental industry is an asset.- Certification in CPR or similar life-saving training is desirable.
