Job Description

Monday -Thursday 7:40AM-3:30/4:00PM
Assists Dentist during examination and treatment of patients, administers company policies and regulatory compliance and maintains dental supplies are stocked for procedures. It is essential to be flexible, friendly and work in a team environment. In addition, the Dental Assistant must display excellent communication skills and a commitment to a Patient First culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure quality patient service by providing thorough patient care, effective communication and personal attention in a gentle, caring manner.
Prepare the treatment rooms, patient records, equipment and necessary instruments for dental procedures.
Provide chairside assistance to the Doctor including, but not limited to basic and complex restorative, surgical, endodontic, pediatric, emergency and preventative dental treatment procedures.
Record accurate and concise patient/treatment information and clinical notes into dental program as instructed by Doctor.
Explain to each patient the purpose and process involved in their dental care and reinforce the treatment plan prescribed by the Doctor.
Explain consents in detail, answer patient questions and obtain patient signatures.
Support business goals by utilizing schedules effectively and supporting the practice revenue objectives.
Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the Doctor and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors.
Maintain a clean work environment and dental equipment to meet OSHA and Center for Disease Control sterilization and infection control regulatory standards.
Maintain dental equipment in proper working order.
Conduct work in compliance with state, federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL & practice policies and practices). ï‚· Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities

Welcome Patients in the dental office
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

Skills

Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
