Job Description

**Overview:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general dentistry, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dental hygienists and dentists in delivering high-quality oral health services.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist dental hygienists and dentists with patient care and treatment, including preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining patient records.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, as well as perform other dental imaging tasks.
- Utilize 3D scanning technology to assist in dental procedures.
- Prepare and administer medications, as well as provide oral health education to patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize Epic software to manage patient data and document treatment plans.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding principles.
- Participate in pediatric dental care, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young patients.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control standards.
**Requirements:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in dental assisting preferred.
- Current dental assisting certification in the state where the position is located is a plus but not required.
- Experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding principles.
- Proficiency in Epic software.
- Experience with medical documentation and HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certification in dental radiography preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
