Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing.
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and diet.
- Assess and record patients’ oral health histories and any changes in their conditions.
- Examine patients’ gums and other soft tissues to detect signs of disease or abnormalities.
- Assist in diagnosing oral conditions by examining X-rays and patient records.
- Perform non-surgical periodontal therapies to manage gum disease.
- Conduct periodontal charting and record findings for the dentist’s review.
