Job Description
Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring the comfort of patients.
Responsibilities:- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing and arranging instruments and equipment- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing patient support- Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist- Perform patient assessments including taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting chief complaints- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in patient records- Ensure infection control protocols are followed at all times- Provide assistance with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
Experience:To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or completion of a dental assisting program- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Opendental- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and operating CAD systems- Understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
