Community Health Dentist Overview: The Community Health Dentist delivers diagnostic, preventive, restorative and surgical dental care services to eligible patients. The successful candidate must possess skills to manage daily clinical operations including delegation of duties to the auxiliary dental team members. Duties & Responsibilities: Provides quality dental services (diagnostic, preventive, restorative and surgical) to patients with skill, care and good judgement.Participates in appointment scheduling and patient referralDocuments patient treatment and related correspondence in electronic dental chartEstablish a treatment plan of care for patients of recordCommunicates dental treatment information to patients, parents and clinical staffProvides direct supervision to dental hygienists and dental assistants in accordance with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners rules and regulationsOversees auxiliary dental staff in preventive maintenance tasks; infection control and sterilization proceduresEnsures adequate clinical supply levels are maintained in accordance with clinical needs; provides oversight of monthly supply ordering providing final approval before submission to clinical coordinatorEnsures timely completion and accuracy of monthly service data reports; performs chart audits to ensure accuracy of Dentrix ledgerOther duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer https://hrrm.harriscountytx.gov/Pages/EqualEmploymentOpportunityPlan.aspx If you need special services or accommodations, please call (713) 274-5445 or email ADACoordinator@bmd.hctx.net.
