Dental Assistant
Job Summary:As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting dental procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. Your responsibilities will include patient management, treatment room preparation, sterilization procedures, records management, inventory control, and active participation in office activities.
Duties:
Patient Management:- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and monitor appointment schedules- Prepare treatment rooms for procedures and escort patients to the designated area- Assist patients in feeling comfortable and address their concerns effectively- Obtain and review patient health histories following office protocols- Anticipate and fulfill the dentist's requirements during procedures- Perform expanded functions as directed by the dentist and ensure patient satisfaction
Treatment Room Management and Sterilization:- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dental units and treatment rooms- Adhere to sterilization procedures according to OSHA regulations- Sterilize instruments meticulously for each procedure- Manage inventory of supplies in treatment rooms and ensure readiness at all times
Records Management:- Safely store and handle patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations- Accurately file patient information and prepare charts for upcoming appointments- Track cases and referrals efficiently to facilitate seamless patient care
Inventory Management:- Monitor inventory levels and order dental supplies as needed- Keep treatment rooms adequately stocked to support daily operations
Office Participation:- Assist in various office tasks when required, such as answering phones or organizing supplies- Actively engage in team meetings to contribute to a collaborative work environment
Requirements:Education/Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred- Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control protocols- Proficiency in computer skills; familiarity with dental software is advantageous- Commitment to continuing education for professional growth
Interpersonal Skills:- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, dentists, and colleagues- Effective verbal communication abilities to interact with diverse individuals within the practice

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
