Job Description

Pacific Smile Dental Office in La Habra is looking for a Dental Assistant to begin soon, with 3 month probation period, and if the candidate is the right fit, a permanent position will be offered. We have part-time position open, for 3-4 days a week. The main days needed are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, with the possibility of adding Thursdays later on.
Required Qualifications

Dental Assistant Certification
CPR certification (if not currently active, we can provide the classes)
X-ray certificate
Proficient in computer systems (such as Microsoft OS & Eagle soft is a plus)
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly and professional phone skills
English Language

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish speaking
Punctual, good communication skills
Experience working in a dental office: taking radiographs with a digital xray system, taking final impressions for prosthodontics, retie for braces, taking intraoral pictures
Ability to communicate in a professional matter
Good auditory skills: particularly when interacting with patients

Primary Responsibilities

Assisting chair-side
Taking records, impressions, x-rays, ortho retie
Correctly setting up trays
Assist dentist during a variety of treatments including extractions, restorative, periodontal, orthodontic and prosthodontic.
Take blood pressure and pulse. Review medical history
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment.
Provide patients with pre/post OP instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
Breakdown of room in-between patients and at end of day
Restocking rooms,
Following up on any notes, numbering pictures, or particular tasks before end of day
communication with front office staff and Dentist

Dental Assistant (3) years

This is a small general dental office where there are various types of dental procedures done like endodontic, orthodontic and prosthodontics, etc. Each day is dynamic and brings its own challenges. We only have patients three times a week. The position requires the employee to either be assisting the dentist or at the front desk answering/receiving the patients. We can offer a part-time position with only back office duties or we can offer full-time position. The full time position might include front office duties, which would be done mainly for the days where there are no patients.
